Colt Brennan Returning to Hawaii for Senior Season
Good news for the University of Hawaii (and for this website), Colt Brennan has withdrawn his name from the NFL Draft and will return to school for his senior season. He filed the paperwork Monday to give himself a little more time but he’s decided another year at Hawaii is in his best interest.
Below are some quotes from Brennan’s press conference:
“I know what I’m passing up,” Brennan said at a news conference. “My heart lies right here in Hawaii.”
“I like being out here,” Brennan said. “It just felt right to stay. I want to keep helping this program. And I know that one more year will help prepare me for the NFL draft. By next year I’ll be that much better.”
“I like the person I’m becoming in Hawaii. I want to give back to a school that gave back to me,” he said.
“My future in the NFL will have nothing to do with where I get drafted. It will have everything to do with what I do after I get drafted.,” he said.
Great attitude about things from Brennan as I’m sure it was a difficult decision. The Warriors fans are definitely excited to have him back and he’s clearly touched by that.
Probably a good decision both in the long and short-term for Colt. He’ll have another year of college fun and another year in beautiful Hawaii, and another year to improve his game on the field while proving to NFL coaches that his off field troubles are a thing of the past.
