Colt McCoy for Heisman!

Welcome to ColtForHeisman.com, a site devoted to bringing you news and opinions from around the web on Texas Longhorns quarterback Colt McCoy. McCoy will be one of the nation’s top candidates for the Heisman Memorial Trophy in 2007.

As a redshirt freshman Colt put up record numbers for the Horns through the air and showed poise and leadership not normally seen in a player so young. He took over for legend Vince Young and led Texas to a very successful season and a Alamo Bowl win over the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Colt McCoy Named to Freshman All-America Team

Texas quarterback Colt McCoy is starting to pick up postseason honors. Today it was announced that he was named to the Scripps Freshman All-America Team by the Football Writers Association of America.

Redshirt freshman QB Colt McCoy has been named to the 2006 Scripps Freshman All-America Team, the Football Writers Association of America has announced. McCoy was on of three unanimous selections to the team, including Wisconsin RB P.J. Hill and Alabama LB Prince Hall.

Congrats to Colt on what I’m sure will be just one of many awards he’ll pick up over his career.
